Mindful Movement (In Studio)

The signature class at Maitri Yoga Collective.

A movement session aimed to build better connections with your body and your mind to support inner physical and emotional stability.

Taking inspiration from yoga as well as more functional core exercises from Pilates, a range of movements and variations are offered and you are encouraged to move at your own pace. Emphasis is placed on alignment, specific breathing techniques and relaxation to create a holistic session. No previous yoga or Pilates experience is needed. Props are supplied to allow you to access the poses at a level that suits you at the time.

Sessions start with grounding and pranayama (breathing), followed by a range of stability poses, working towards stronger or harder options, then lead towards a cool down, finishing with savasana (laying down meditation).

This vinyasa style class is a soothing and mindful practice designed to cultivate relaxation, flexibility and strength. It typically involves slow, intentional movements, focusing on deep breathing and gentle transitions between poses. This class is perfect for beginners or those looking for a more gentle experience. The emphasis is on alignment, body awareness and creating a calm, centred mind. All while in a supportive environment with other beautiful humans, working towards the same goal as you.

This vinyasa style class allows you to move gently while using the rhythmic nature of your breath. You will gain all the health benefits of exercise while also developing skills to keep your mind calmer and your body stronger and more flexible. All of this while in a supportive environment with other beautiful humans, reaching the same goal as you.

Broga

A yoga session tailored specifically for men. Come to this fortnightly class to to build skills that can be applied on and off the mat. Session start with grounding and pranayama (breathing), then a range of asanas (poses) aimed to work towards a particular goal are offered.

Types of Poses include

  • Strength-building for whole body
  • Flexibility Training
  • Breathwork and Relaxation
  • Functional Movements

Additional props and variations are provided to ensure you can access the pose at the level that is comfortable for you. The sessions then end with savasana (laying down meditation) to allow you to leave rested and mindful.

Power Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic and invigorating flow that combines strength, flexibility and mindfulness. This class focuses on co-ordinating breath with movement, offering a series of challenging postures that build heat and intensity. This session allows you to build strength and flexibility, while tuning into your body’s natural rhythms. It can also provide challenges that can encourage your mind, body and soul to work together to reach these goals. Expect to leave feeling empowered, rejuvenated and centred. Some experience would be helpful, but variations and props are offered for additional support.

Kids Yoga

Primary school aged kids can learn to harness their energy, manage their emotions, as well as build strength and flexibility through themed sessions. Sessions are made up of games, breathing activities, yoga flows and always finish with savasana (laying down meditation). Yoga philosophy is also woven throughout the sessions to assist students in building empathy, gratefulness and loving kindness.

Postnatal Yoga Therapy

This 8 week Postnatal Yoga Therapy Program is a gentle, supportive space for new mothers to reconnect with their bodies after birth, in a way that feels safe, informed and nurturing.

Designed specifically for the postnatal period, this program supports physical recovery, nervous system regulation, and emotional wellbeing. Each session is guided by Yoga Therapy principles, meaning practices are adapted to meet you where you are - whether you are weeks or months post partum, recovering from vaginal birth or Caesarean, or navigating fatigue, overwhelm, or changes in your body.

Across the 8 weeks, we will gently explore:

  • Pelvic floor and deep core re-connection

  • Safe, progressive strength for the spine, hips and shoulders

  • Breath practices to support healing, energy and rest

  • Nervous system regulation to ease stress and support emotional balance

  • Restorative practices to encourage deep rest and recovery

Movements are slow, mindful and functional, with options offered throughout. There is no pressure to "bounce back" - instead, the focus is on rebuilding trust in your body, supporting long-term wellbeing, and creating a sustainable foundation for motherhood.

This program is suitable once you have been cleared for movement by your healthcare provider. Babies are welcome, however, older children will need to be cared by someone else to ensure this time is for you.

You don't need prior yoga experience - just a willingness to move gently and care for yourself.
